FolioNook
Your library, explained

Privacy policy

What stays on your device, what leaves only when you choose, and how to keep a second copy of your paperwork.

No account. No ads or analytics. No library uploads to us. FolioNook stores your selected document copies and notes locally. Sharing and backups are choices you make.

Information handled on your device

FolioNook is a personal document organizer from Binary Data Technology. When you import a document, the app reads the file you select and stores a separate copy in its app-private storage. Your source file is left unchanged.

The local catalogue keeps document names and original filenames, file type and size, content checksums, date added, folder assignments, tags, notes and favourites. Appearance preferences are also stored locally.

The app uses this information to organize, search and display your library, and processes supported previews on your device. FolioNook has no account system, advertising or analytics SDK, cloud synchronization, or app internet permission. We do not collect your library data through the app or receive it on our servers.

Files you choose to share or export

You can save, share or open original documents through Android’s system interfaces. The receiving app or storage provider you choose gains access to those selected files. Sharing originals does not include your catalogue notes or tags.

Exported backups contain selected document files and their associated catalogue information. Backups are unencrypted ZIP files. Anyone who can read a backup can access its contents. Choose a destination you trust.

Your document provider, email app, external viewer or backup destination may process or synchronize information according to its own practices. For example, a cloud-backed folder may upload your export. FolioNook does not control those services.

Storage, retention and deletion

FolioNook retains imported documents and saved catalogue information until you delete them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. Deleting a managed copy removes its catalogue entry, notes and tags. It does not delete the source original, copies previously shared with other apps, or backups saved elsewhere.

The app creates temporary working copies, verified backup archives and copies used for external opening or sharing. At library startup, maintenance removes temporary staging, export and sharing entries older than 24 hours. This is a cleanup threshold, not a promise of deletion exactly 24 hours after creation. Cleanup runs when the library starts; Android may clear cached files sooner.

Temporary copies can remain after their managed library entry is deleted. Startup maintenance also removes managed files no longer referenced by the catalogue. External saved files and copies held by another app are outside this cleanup.

The app asks Android to exclude its library from automatic cloud backup and device transfer. Device-specific operating-system behavior is outside the app’s control. Save your own backup outside FolioNook before uninstalling or changing devices. A backup still inside the app is temporary.

Protection and limitations

The library uses Android app-private storage. You select which documents to import; FolioNook does not request all-files access. It is not an encrypted vault and does not provide its own document or backup encryption.

Protect your device and the destinations where you save backups. No account is created, so there is no FolioNook account to close. To remove local library data, delete managed documents, clear app storage, or uninstall; remove any external copies separately.

Support and policy changes

For privacy questions, contact binarydatatechnology151@gmail.com.

If you email support, the information you choose to send is handled by your email service and received by the support contact. FolioNook does not automatically attach your library, documents or diagnostic logs. Avoid sending sensitive document contents.

Support email is separate from the local library and automatic cache cleanup. Deleting app data does not delete email correspondence. Contact the privacy address for information about handling your correspondence or to request its deletion.

This privacy information should be reviewed whenever the app’s data handling changes. You can also read the FolioNook help and recovery guide.
